We believe that a strong, active community is essential for a place to thrive. We’re doing our bit to build a community where there is room for everyone.
Over the last few years, our work has evolved in ways that we couldn’t have predicted; being community-led means that we welcome seeing ideas emerge and are keen to test out those ideas with our community.
Around The Town loves local – we can’t be more clear than that. Local people in local places, having a great time and loving where we live is what ATT is all about. In 2024 we created a festival week where there’s a platform for musicians, artists, performers and production crew who live in Carrickfergus – no more talent leaving town just to be seen and heard.
This year we had another jam packed program with 32 events including: 5 Town Hall evenings, 5 lunchtime recitals, 4 supported living specials, 1 half day finale and more. This year we’re opening with stand up comedy and are introducing a Blues Cafe to the line up.
Also new this year is Uplift Performing Art’s ‘Movie Music summer Camp’ for primary school aged children.
We’re based in our Talking Shop in The Courtyard at Scotch Quarter. We are usually there from Wednesday to Friday. Come and say hello!
